Director of Operations Support
Job Description:
Reports to: VP of Operations Development
Date: November 24, 2008
Purpose: The Director of Operations Support will build the Del Taco brand by being the liaison between the Del Taco Corporate office and field operations. This individual will then be able to provide input to all brand strategies that will ignite business growth. This person will assist in the enhancement of the communication to the field to ensure that initiates are implemented as needed.

Implementation/ Execution
• Provide Leadership and accountability to the field resource team through clear expectations, coordinating efforts and follow up
• Play a key role in executing initiatives through the implementation of plan vs. overseeing the plan ensure milestones and metrics are metOrder Times
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders by maintaining frequent and on-going communication Tracking and follow up
• Lead implementation of initiatives while continuing to follow-up the process to monitor and gauge the results to determine the need to implement corrections.

Education/Experience Requirements
18 months as an Area director at Del Taco
College degree or equivalent experience required (minimum 5 yrs experience)
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Ability to manage multiple projects/directions simultaneously
Understanding of time management and scheduling
Ability to self-manage and make independent decisions
Experience with Microsoft Office system
Licenses/Designations
Required: (i.e., current and valid driver’s license, good driving record, Paralegal, etc.)
Preferred: (i.e., CPA, American Marketing Association, etc.)
Driver’s License.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs or technical developments)
Field Marketing Manager
Job Description: Del Taco LLC, the nation’s second largest quick service Mexican/American food chain seeks an experienced, dynamic Field Marketing Manager for the Lake Forest Corporate office.
The selected candidate will develop, coordinate, and execute local, regional and company wide promotions that increase customer transactions, check average, and loyalty for the Del Taco brand. Work with Del Taco approved agencies to develop needed support materials for programs such as display ads, billboards, coupons, etc. Direct agencies to negotiate with media outlets to maximize local TV, cable, and radio promotional activities. Prepare and disseminate communications and instructions to affected restaurants in advance of promotional launches.
Positions Duties and Responsibilities:
•Plan, coordinate and execute “value-added” and fee-based media and non-media promotional events to drive customer transactions, check average, and top line sales.
•Primary marketing contact with Franchisees and Area Directors. Meet with Area Directors and Franchisees to plan grass roots restaurant/DMA specific marketing & PR programs to build sales
•Travel to assigned markets to plan and/or execute promotional & marketing activities as needed
•Draft and disseminate communications for all local and regional promotions to General Managers, Area Directors and Franchisees as directed by Del Taco Corporate Marketing
•Plan, budget, coordinate, & execute Grand Openings, reimage and anniversaries for new company and franchise restaurants in assigned markets.
•Distribute media updates for each promotional period to both corporate & franchise operators in assigned markets.
•Responsible for outdoor advertising contracts in respective markets and subsequent contract renewals staying within DMA budgets
•Create and execute direct mail coupon programs using Del Taco media buyers when appropriate
•Provide post-mortem analysis for all marketing programs (radio promotions, direct mail, etc.).
•Work with approved graphic designer to design display ads, coupons, billboards, and other collateral materials to support local and regional programs
•Plan and oversee agreements for local and regional sponsorships, advertising, etc.
•Provide copy for radio commercial tags & on-air promotional event announcements as needed to support local and regional activities.
•Plan and manage budgets for assigned markets.
•Responsible for supporting corporate marketing plans to respective areas of accountability.
Basic Position Qualifications:
•Degree in Marketing or other applicable course of study (Degree may be substituted for 3-5 years promotional Marketing experience)
•2-3 years experience in Marketing promotions or local advertising (Franchised QSR experience strongly preferred)
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Strong organization, detail-oriented and multitasking ability
•Strong negotiation skills (Media negotiation preferred)
•Strong English vocabulary and writing skills (Copy writing experience preferred)
•Ability to self-direct and work independently with limited daily feedback
•Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Acrobat Reader
•Understanding of QSR Operations
